Dreams keep you going
One should never give up on your dreams. And when you have a dream, you should work hard towards it!
These are the words of Ursula Grobler, South African Olympic rower at the 2016 Rio Games.
Ursula was a late starter, but when she decided to go for it (against her Dad’s whiches), she put everything into it. That she made it, is a testimony to her fighting spirit, but also not something she would have achieved alone.
Ursula told us about the lessons she learned before, during and after her rowing days. The advent of AI will force many of us to adjust what we do and how we do it. We need to be prepared for this. We also need to lead with love. Love for the people in our life, who we work for, love for what we do, and an absolute passion for what we believe in. It was a very inspiring message indeed!
Astrid Bredenkamp from Lizz’s Fizz was our drinks partner for the evening. She took us through her brewing process, focusing largely on different flavours of Ginger Beers, but she also brews a Lager. You can purchase her products at Mondanette or the Irene Dairy Farm, amongst others.
Attendees introduced each other and did a great job! Was fun to hear how people connect, but also took the courage to motivate why we should support each other’s businesses.
A big thank you to Viva Vita Family Restaurant for the pizzas and wine, as well as making the venue available as always.
Our next event will be the Rugby World Cup launch event, hosted by Express Employment Professionals and Richard Bands, ex-Springbok prop.
