The Digital Dilemma provokes thoughts

The Irene Business Network was treated to the best there was to offer:

  • Dr Anke Brand regarding online addiction
  • Earthen Coffee Roastery with the best coffee in South Africa
  • John Watson on networking, power connecting
  • Eager business people who discuss what they do and learn from each other

John took us through the most important do’s and don’ts of networking. We are never too old to learn something new. It is so much easier to learn from someone who has perfected the art of networking. John shared some useful tips, as well as books he read on the topic. A message from John:

The main act of the evening was Dr Anke Brand. Her experience in and with online risks or addiction has no local equivalent. She shared from the heart, raw emotion and laid bare the effect exposure to online activity can have on kids.

It was not all doom and gloom as she also gave useful tips to keep our kids, and ourselves, safe in this process.

Anke can be reached via email at anke.digin@gmail.com

Earthen Coffee Roastery, a local brand from Centurion, gave everyone a taster. Fredrick, a passionate coffee roaster, gave some practical tips on brewing the perfect cup. Visit them here: www.earthencoffeeroasters.co.za

The evening, sponsored by Wordhapers and hosted at Viva Vita Family Restaurant, was a great success.
